a marriage {see it snap it love it}

A lot of images could be used to signify marriage.
A bride and groom.
Wedding rings.
A marriage certificate even.
But for me,
the first thing I think of when I think of marriage
is holding hands.

Being married means that there is always someone there to hold your hand,
through thick and thin
and all those other things we vowed to stick together through.
Whatever life brings
we will be there
holding hands.

This photo is one of my favourites my wedding.
You can't see the smiling faces,
you can't see the rings,
you can't see the outfits
or hear the music
or the beautiful vows we said.
But I feel like it's all there in this photo,
in that moment where we held hands.
Whatever we said
we were promising to stay like that,
together forever.

I love seeing old married couples holding hands.
With all the history
and the lasting friendship they have shared.
The holding hands says more than a word or a kiss ever could.
It says we are together.
We are a team.
We are proud to be holding hands
because we are in love.

Next weeks theme is
'Finding Beauty in the Ordinary'.

    1. Thanks. It's funny the moments and imagery that stand out years later. Hand holding was a special part of my wedding day and is of my marriage too. X

  5. Lovely, it seems to usually be teenagers holding hands... I guess after the years of carrying baby bags and buggys maybe it gets forgotton. I hope not.

    1. Hehe. Maybe that's why I like it so much. It gives me that goosebumpy feeling like you get when you're a teenager in love. x

  6. I agree, old couples holding hands, or sharing laughter, or showing care for each other, make me smile
