official

Our beautiful baby girl is all official now.
She is registered.
She is ours.
We get to keep her.

I know that registering your baby is just one of those formalities;
a box you have to tick,
a piece of paper you have to have.
But I think it's really exciting.

I was so excited when we went to register the beautiful boy's birth.
It was one of our first outings as a little family of three
and I was so proud pushing my new buggy to the registry office
and showing off my new baby boy.

And I was just as excited this time,
taking my new baby
and my new family to the registry office.
Seeing our daughter's name in black and white
on an official piece of paper
along with our own names.
It's as if it makes it really real
that's she's really ours.
Like a receipt!
That birth certificate says that she is a part of me
and a part of her daddy.
Ever since she was a Splodge she has been a part of us,
but now she is a part of our family,
officially!

  2. I love the photo, they all look so happy. It is exciting making your baby 'real' somehow! I was excited going to get Mads birth certificate, you think you are the only one who has ever been in there with a newborn! x

  3. Oh my word, how thrilling. That's made me inconveniently broody!

    1. Hehe. So I'm not alone then. It is funny, but I always kind of think of it as a receipt. It's like your proof that they are yours. X
