animals {see it snap it love it}

If a dog is a man's best friend
then maybe a cat is a girl's.
Because ever since she came home from hospital
one of our cats has been in love with the beautiful girl.

He lies by her bouncy chair when she sleeps,
he hates it when she cries,
he is constantly interested in smelling her head and watching her hands move.
He'd never touch her (he's not that brave)
but he likes to be constantly near her.

And let me tell you,
Wentworth is normally a scaredy cat.
He loves his mummy and daddy
but all other humans get given a pretty wide berth.
He stays away from the beautiful boy
and always has done,
which is what makes his apparent love of our new addition so cute.

As I'm sure you can all imagine life with a newborn is wonderful
but a little unpredictable at the moment.
So I didn't get time to contact a Photo of the Week this week,
in all honesty I had been pondering who to choose for days
as I loved all the colourful photos from last week.
So you can all consider yourselves winners if you entered the linky last week.

And that means I'll pick the next theme
which will be 'Play'.
Interpret it as you like.
I can't wait to see your photos.

But this week it's all about 'Animals'.
So lets see what you've all got to share this week.

  1. Aw, so lovely to read this, Wentworth sounds gorgeous. One of my cats, Hercules, used to lie on top of my bump when I was pregnant and both Hercules and our other cat Iggy love being around our daughter. Neither has ever so much as raised a claw to her, in spite of some of the scary predictions by worried relatives that cats shouldn't be around babies. Cats rule!!!

    1. I agree, cats do rule! We heard all the stories and concerns about cats and babies when we had the little man. Both cats have always been fine with him and have generally tended to just stay away. Our other cat Darcy really likes him now he's big enough to play, and obviously Wentworth has claimed the little lady as his own. It's really sweet actually. X

    1. We are always saying how lucky we are with our cats because they're so gentle and friendly. I think it's so lovely for children to grow up with pets. I did, and wouldn't have it any other way. X

    1. Thanks. My husband wasn't a cat lover until we got our two, but they're such lovely cats they soon melted his heart. X

  4. Great photo, glad you went with animals, my parents cat was just the same with me as a baby and would always go and warn my Mum if I had woken up, she was the earliest form of baby monitor!

    1. Ahhhh, Wentworth does that. He goes and sits at the bedroom door when she wakes up until we go and get her. So sweet.
And thanks for a great theme. X

  5. That's lovely! One of our cats loves cuddles with the little ones, but the other tends to run away at the sight of them! I'll be back later to join in with the linky :)

    1. I find it so funny how sensitive and funny cats are with children. Wentworth has always steered clear of the little man, which is why his love of the little lady is so cute. X

    1. I've heard that a lot. We expected them to be disgruntled when the little man was born but they just stayed away from him. X

    1. They are definitely quite sensitive to things. I'm sure both our cats understood that I was pregnant both times. X
