out of the mouths of babes {july}

Daddy: "Oh don't be silly, stop being a big girl!"
beautiful boy: "I'm not a big girl Daddy. I'm a LITTLE BOY!!!"

to his little baby sister...
"You spin around just like this. Go round and round and round.
It's really funny. Get up. Come on. Try it."

Nanny: "Which breadstick would you like?"
beautiful boy: "A clean one."

in response to being asked if he was okay:
"I'm happy in my eyes. I'm happy in my face.
I'm happy in my shorts and in my shark shoes."

Nanny: "Bye. See you tomorrow."
beautiful boy: "Goodbye friend Nanny. See you soon."

"Yes I'm am." - instead of I am.
(he doesn't really mispronounce things very much, so this is so cute.)

beautiful boy: "I love you Mummy. I love you."
Mummy: "I love you more."
beautiful boy: "I love you most."

about his baby sister...
"Oh, she's just so beautiful. Bless her."

"I'm making a smelly ice-cream poo on the good boy toilet."

Daddy: "Are you okay? You feel very not and sweaty."
beautiful boy: "I'm not hot. I'm warm Daddy. WAAAAARM!"

It's been done about a bajillion times in the parenting blogging community,
but I really want to record some of the cute and funny things that our little man says.
This blog is my children's baby book, so this seems the best place to record it all.

  1. I love this Lucy! So funny. I keep meaning to write down all the funny things Mads says, and I do occasionally and then I put them in her monthly letters, but it is definitely nice to record them. Will be so lovely to look back on when they are older. I love the 'I am happy' quote, and I also like the 'clean breadstick.' So funny! xx

    1. I always think it's worth writing these things down. My mum used to write ours down in our baby books and they are hilarious to read back now. x

  5. I love this part and the things they come out with. Dylan refused to eat two of his sandwiches the other day as one was for Mr Maker and the other for Andy Murray. As his speech has snowballed so have the brilliant things he says!

    1. It's hilarious all the crazy things they say. I love that my little man has reached a stage where you can have a proper (albeit a bit random) conversation with him. x

  12. really lovely! We use the blog instead of a baby book too - so much easier and it keeps us motivated to remember to document some of these things that we'll look back on and smile about. I love what he said about loving mummy most and about his little sister - just adorable xxx

    1. That's what a blog is really isn't it? A record of family life. So it is absolutely the right place to share all these baby book moments. x

  13. You HAVE to keep recording these - it doesn't matter how many people have done the same. If I deleted every other post on my blog, this kind of thing would still make my blog what it is, because it's what I want to remember, and what I want them to see, when they're older, and can't remember. Thank you for sharing these. I particularly like "I'm happy in my shorts"!

    1. Thanks, that's what I think, it's the posts that we'll want to read back time and again that matter, and I'm sure this will be one of them. So glad to be finally linking up. X

  14. There is nothing funnier than an innocent child, Addy doesn't say funny things yet but she has accents for certain words, no lies, water is said in an accent as is seven, it is the strangest thing
