britax versafix review

Shopping for a carseat for your child
is one of those really important big purchases.
And for us that generally involves researching online
a visit to a store to try it out
and we tend to go with the big name brands
who we know we can trust to keep our precious cargo safe in the car.

Our beautiful girl rides around safely and comfortably in a Britax group 0 carseat
(she has the BABY-SAFE plus SHR II)
and they kindly sent us their Versafix group 1 seat for the beautiful boy to try out.
One of the big selling points of the Versafix for us
is that it can be fitted into the car with either the three point seat belt or using ISOFIX,
there is also a top tether for extra security in cars that have the necessary fittings.
My husbands car has ISOFIX and top tether points
whereas my car relies on using the three point harness,
so the flexibility of this carseat is perfect for our circumstances.
It's easy to fit in both instances
and feels really secure
which is obviously the most important part.

Up until now, the little guy has been using a Maxi-Cosi Tobi
which we have been more that happy with.
But the Britax Versafix has a far more spacious seat
and I feel like he will be comfier for longer in it as he grows.
The Versafix can be reclined a little so that he can be kept comfy if he falls asleep in the car.
Our original car seat reclines more than this one,
but it does recline enough to stop his sleepy head rolling forward,
so that's good enough for us.

When he's in the seat,
the straps can easily be tightened and loosened by an adult
to make sure that he is safely held in place,
but the buckle is firm enough
that I have no worries about him undoing it himself.
It also has lovely big padded strap covers across his chest and shoulders
which definitely make it look far more comfortable.

We really like this car seat,
and the fact that it is so adaptable to fit into different cars
with different methods of fixing,
makes it really great for us and our needs.
And you really can't put a value on knowing your child is safe in the car
and going with a brand like Britax
means that you know you are in the safest hands.

We were sent this car seat free of charge for the purpose of this review
as part of Britax's Mumbassador programme.
But all words and opinions are my own.

  1. It does look really comfy. I like the wide shoulder straps too, I tend to find thinner ones twist around a lot x
