soundtrack of life: song thirteen

The music that you listen to and surround yourself with is the soundtrack to your life.

But right now, Little Man, you are just too little to really know about it.
Other than that you like listening to it.
And that you like Mummy singing to it.
Which probably means that your musical tastes still need to be developed a bit.

Each week Mummy and Daddy are choosing a song which has some significance to you.

I giorni by Ludovico Einaudi

The song this week is a little different.
Because technically it's not a song.
It's a piece of music.

Mummy likes to put some instrumental or classical music on at some point during the day.
She read somewhere that it's supposed to make babies more intelligent.
But that's not why she plays it.

She plays it because you find it so calming.
It is often on while you play with your treasure basket
and it definitely adds another sensory element to your play.

This one is Mummy's favourite.
It brings a lump to her throat
and a tear to her eye whenever she hears it.
She heard it for the very first time when you were only days old
and this piece of music will always remind her of you
because it takes her right back to when you were so tiny,
and because you have shared so many wonderful moments while listening to it.

It is beautiful
and you love it too.
