new {see it snap it love it}

New Year's Day.
My new baby.
My new lens.
I am a little bit obsessed with my new camera toy.

It's a new year
and See It Snap It Love It is back
with a new lease of life.
But also with some slight changes.

I thought back to why I started it in the first place
and it was to give myself a challenge
to photograph different things,
to spot the beauty in the ordinary,
and to maybe learn a little along the way.
And that is still what I want from it.

I guess everyone comes to photography wanting different things
but ultimately wanting to document.
And for me, right now, I really want to document our lives,
the ordinary and mundane,
the tiny details,
the special moments,
the ugly, the interesting and the beautiful.

The themes will still be here:
some really open ended and open to interpretation,
some really specific,
but all something you can put your own spin on.

I've been so thrilled to see people joining in week after week
and going around to each other's entries and sharing comments.
I would love to see that sense of community grow a bit.
So some weeks I would love some of you to be guest co-hosts;
hosting the linky on your blog too
and also sharing tips on how you created your image,
or on ideas for the next theme.
The idea being that we can all learn from each other.
So if you are interested in being a guest co-host
then drop me an email at
and I will tell you more about it.

For next weeks theme I'm going to keep it really easy.
The theme will be 'The One Word Title'.
Your photo can be of anything
but the rule is it has to have a one word title.
Easy, no?
Oh and if you wanted to share a little bit about how and why you took the photo
then that would be great too.

But this week the theme is 'New'
so get linking up your photos
of new Christmas presents
or new places
or new things you love.

Don't forget to link back
and to visit each other.

  3. I love that photo. My photography has been seriously lacking but I have rejoined 365 so I hope I'll have something to show for it this year. I too am going back to my roots a bit this year, I want to catalogue more of what we do as a young family, before the moments get less bloggable! I'm not a regular on this linky at all, but I'll try and join in, and if you ever need a sub in your list of hosts, let me know :)

    1. Ahh, well we'd love to have you in the linky. And as a guest host too.
I loved doing 366 last year and am doing 365 again this year. It's great to have a focus for recording life as a family. x
