farewell to the summer

Just because its summer. And because there is simply no such thing as too much beach spam if you ask me. I bring you yet another beachy adventure. This time lady luck was seriously on our side, because we booked our 'farewell summer' beach hut day back in the winter and while the days either side of our little trip were overcast, wet and a bit cold, the day of the trip dawned with blue sky, bright sunshine and it was so hot that I think we were definitely in the best place; enjoying the coastal breeze with natures paddling pool a few feet away.

With the kind of hot weather we've been having of late, there appear to be two options when it comes to small children; hide away in the cool, or go for some water play. We definitely did our fair share of both last week, but my pair of water babies will always prefer the latter option and seem to be drawn to water like a magnet.

and we want to do anything we can to make sure of that.

That's what I go on holiday wanting,

and that is what our holiday at Bluestone gave us in abundance.

A few weeks back my little water babies and I were delighted to announce 

that we had been chosen as Swimologists, 

meaning that we would be ambassadors for Konfidence.

As part of that role we all got to enjoy a weekend at Alton Towers,

in order to give their swim aids a good test.

Well test them we did,

and we are so so SO impressed with all the items they sent.

My children are total water babies

(they get it from their mama)

and are at their happiest when they're splashing;

be that in puddles, in the bath, or in a pool.
As a self confessed water baby myself
nothing makes me happier than seeing them enjoy the water.

In the interests of fairness

and being a good mama all round,

after sharing my beautiful girl's bath time faces

it seemed only right I do the same for this cheeky little chap.

In between telling me 

"Don't take my photo Mummy"

he's quite the little poser.

(To all the people who suggested I print the little lady's collage

and put it up the wall;

I think they'll look good as a pair!)

This little cutie just loves bath time.

She's a total water baby.

She wriggles with delight as soon as you strip her

because she knows that she's headed for the bath.

Bath time is noisy, messy and absolutely wild some evenings.

With water spraying, bubbles flying and hysterical squealing

it's always a great high to end the day on.

has to be that the simplest things are the most fun.

My beautiful boy is a total water baby

and there is no other place guaranteed to make him smile more than in water.

He loves to splash,

to crawl around dipping his face in the water,

to play with his sponges and his toys.

He has done a lot of his firsts in the bath tub;

his first roll,

his first time sitting up,

his first time standing himself up.

It's definitely one of his favourite places

and therefore a perfect place to capture a water photograph.

your forty-fourth week

It was a week of very exciting firsts.

Isn't there something lovely about that as a date?

So pretty and balanced.

And it was a special date for us

because it marked a special point.

The little guy was born after 39 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy.

And 11.11.11 marked 39 weeks and 4 days of life in the outside world.

It was the very last day when I had been his home for longer.
