eight weeks new

Your personality was beginning to show
and we felt like we were really getting to know you.

Like we knew that you loved being in the bath,
you would wriggle and smile and were so happy and content in water.
But you hated the cold bit when you had to come out of the bath,
your bottom lip would wobble and it often made you cry.

And you liked us to be near you
and in your sight wherever possible.
You were beginning to get a bit of seperation anxiety
and would get upset quite quickly when you couldn't see or hear us.

We had started to do some proper tummy time with you each day
and you absolutely loved it.
It was probably because you were so nosey
and also because you already had pretty good head control
but you definitely seemed to like your new view of things.

Your favourite thing of all was being made to jump.
We would hold you in our arms and then pretend like you were falling.
You absolutely adored it
and would smile and giggle in such an adorable way
that it made us want to keep doing it
just to see more of your gorgeous grins.

    1. Her face really lights up at certain things now, and it's so nice to see. It's just scary how fast she seems to be turning into a little person. X

    1. I kept a record of each week of the first year of the little mans life, so I had to do it for the little lady too really. Plus it's lovely to compare now. X

  4. What a cutie! I'm glad you're enjoying her. I think there must be something with 2nd, 3rd, 4th children where you *know* how special it is and kind of enjoy the little moments more. I'm not explaining myself very well but with Little Monster, I didn't know what to expect and I don't think I savoured the amazing moments when they came (amidst the sleep deprivation etc). If and when number two comes along I will know to really enjoy and savour those early days because I realise now how quickly they grow!

    1. That is definitely true. I adored being a mummy the first time around, but it's so much easier to enjoy it for what it is because you know how fast it all flies by. X
