donut days {52 adventures}

This was a real, true, bonafide, genuine adventure. We got in the car, drove to a town we've never visited before, and discovered a little gem. Leigh-On-Sea really isn't terribly far away from us, but yet I've never, in all my years of living in Essex, actually been to visit. Well not anymore. And we will definitely be popping back in the spring or summer, because it is such a charming place. We want to go back and enjoy the beach and the prom, it is all so lovely.

The weather didn't really want us to have an amazing outdoorsy adventure this week. It was blowing a gale and threatening rain and snow, but luckily I'd spotted somewhere in Leigh-On-Sea that seemed worthy of a visit, a cute little donut place called Los Donuts. So we put the postcode in the satnav and went off adventuring. And it didn't disappoint.

Los Donuts has gorgeous retro styling, stools in the window so you can watch the world go by, and some truly yummy donuts. And who doesn't love a donut? They had some of the normal flavours you'd expect like chocolate and original glazed, but they also had some different ones too; like banoffee and chocolate orange, and a peanut butter and bacon donut which I am absolutely going to go back and try another time!!!

It was a simple adventure but a really fun one. We sat together in the window, munching on delicious donuts while watching buses and cars pass, admiring the shops and then also watching the most enormous snow flakes fall, much to the children's absolute delight. It was a charming way to spend a cold, wet afternoon. We'll definitely be going back, and if you are in the area I'd definitely recommend tracking down Los Donuts for a tasty treat.

^ waiting patiently for their goodies.
^ she had a perfectly good chocolate donut of her own, but once she's polished off that, Mummy's banoffee one looked pretty good too.

This year we are embarking on a challenge to have an adventure every single week... 52 adventures!!! They may be big excited adventures or simple ones close to home, but we want to have a 2015 full of adventures and full of amazing memories.

    1. Thanks lovely, I didn't want it to all be about big fancy trips, but about those simple adventures you can have on your doorstep too. There will be some big adventures too over the year, but sometimes the simple little ones are the most fun. x

  6. Oh what a find - those doughnuts look amazing - although I'm not sure I'm convinced about the bacon peanut butter ones! It's so lovely to have 'doorstep adventures' too - especially when you find places you love enough to want to go back to again - it's all well falling in love with somewhere overseas but you can't quite nip there for an afternoon!!

  9. I love donuts. I am hopping in the car right now meet me there. Lol yummy. What a lovely adventure to take. We use to do that every Sunday drive to a different town and see what we find. Have lunch or a walk or a little nibble like this and coffee its a great way to get out of the hours and explore new places and things. Sounds like a gem indeed. Loving your 52 adventures. Wish I could do that I can't even think what to do for us once a month when Mr p isn't golfing. Hahahah gorgeous time and quality together. So beautiful.
