siblings {february}

I'm going to start by saying how much I love this first photograph. There is something about the way they are sat so close, hands intertwined but looking opposite ways and seeing different things that seems so symbolic of the sibling relationship. Those bonds are tied so deep, and hopefully it won't matter what they do in their lives and where they go, they'll feel that love, tying them together; a little comforting squeeze of the hand, however far apart they may be.

Sometimes this beautiful duo take my breath away. Observing their relationship is my single biggest joy in life. The simplicity with which they love and accept one another, but can also frustrate and antagonise each other. The way that their biggest smiles and wildest laughs are always with one another. They really are best friends, and while I know that won't always be the case, I do hope with all my heart that something of that closeness is always there between them.

The greatest toy that the pair of them have ever been given is without doubt each other. It never fails to amaze me how they can find fun and enjoyment in the simplest of things... as long as they're together. Together nothing is boring, everything is an adventure. They are partners in crime without a doubt.

It's always such a highlight of my month when the day comes around for Siblings. There is something so warm and fuzzy about seeing pictures of children with their brothers and sister; those people who they share so much with but can be either so similar to or be so different to.

There were so many gorgeous Sibling's posts linked up last month. Thank-you so much for joining in and linking up with us. This month I'm going to suggest you go and check out my lovely cohost Annie's sibling photos. I always feel like I could be looking into my future when I see her pictures of her children together, and her photos are always stunning, so do go and visit her.

Now it's over to you... link up your siblings moments below, share the photos on our Facebook page, use #siblingsproject on instagram and twitter. We can't wait to see them all.

  2. Oh they are so lovely together. Your pictures of your little duo always radiates such closeness, even in the ones that aren't part of the Siblings series. They are clearly best friends and I suspect they'll have each others backs for a long time to come!

  5. Amazing — this month they look like they've grown up overnight!! Such lovely pictures and I love your sentiment about the first image. That's a lovely way of looking at things. In fact, I've said something very similar about mine — the fact that they have an invisible thread that draws them together. It's lovely to think they'll always have each other isn't it?

    1. I know, that one really makes me smile, partly because it was so spontaneous, and partly because it kind of looks like she's tolerating rather than enjoying it. x

  17. They are beautiful photos and really show what a beautiful relationship they have. my eldest 2 are 5 and 3 and they fight like cat and dog, the cuddling up together is very few and far between, they love each dearly, but wind each other up. They both dote on the youngest, who is 19 months old, and I'm hoping that doesn't change in a year or 2 as they grow.

  28. Finally getting round to commenting on this after my hectic week, although of course I looked at them on the day. I think these might be my favourites ever, I love the one where you have stepped back a bit and got lots of the wall in- they just look so little against the big huge wall. And that first one is stunning, funnily enough I thought how grown up they looked and then read the bit where you said you could imagine them as teenagers- I completely agree! x
