soundtrack of life: song six

The music that you listen to and surround yourself with is the soundtrack to your life.

But right now, Little Man, you are just too little to really know about it.
Other than that you like listening to it.
And that you like Mummy singing to it.
Which probably means that your musical tastes still need to be developed a bit.

Each week Mummy and Daddy are choosing a song which has some significance to you.

Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk

This is one of those songs that means different things to different people.
I know its a really popular first dance song,
and it's one we considered for our wedding.

But for me, the lyrics didn't sit quite right for our wedding.
So I forgot all about it.

Then I rediscovered a favourite old programme on Sky,
Dawson's Creek.
This was the first programme that I genuinely loved.
I recorded every episode onto video.
I loved it that much.

And this song featured on that programme
and on one of their accompanying soundtrack CDs
(which of course I had because I was obsessed.)

So I rediscovered this song.
And now I blub every time I hear it.

Because for me,
this song says so much more about family love
that I could ever find the words to say myself.

"Well, if you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
And if you knew how happy you are making me
I never thought that I'd love anyone so much"
