the dinosaur that pooped a planet {what we're reading}

With a title like that
before you even open this book
you know you're promised a laugh at the very least.

are laugh out loud funny in places,
for grown ups and children.
My husband cannot get through either
without cracking a wry, silly little boy smile.

Lets be honest,
boys just seem to be drawn to toilet humour,
and this has it in droves.
But it also has a subtle message about the perils of over consumption.

The Dinosaur That Pooped A Planet follows on from
The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas,
but the books work equally well alone.
Our little guy definitely seems to prefer The Dinosaur That Pooped A Planet,
but I suspect the Christmas version will gain in popularity
as we get into December.

Both books are written by Tom and Dougie of McFly fame
and the musical rhythmic text of the book
stays true to their cheesy, cheeky pop songs.
And I say cheesy and cheeky with complete adoration!

And if nothing else,
my beautiful boy absolutely ADORES this book,
and asks to have it read to him repeatedly.
In fact we've been known to read cover-to-cover
only to have to start again from the beginning.
If that's not a endorsement,
then I don't know what is.

  1. You're right, I was chuckling just from the title! I think this might just have to go on the Christmas list as a Kitty and her Daddy special!

  6. I've been looking at this book for a Christmas present, I didn't even know there was a Christmas version. Look like everything a little boy would love in a book and I think my husband would like this one too! I must link up to this but I never remember to take a photo when we are reading :) x
