Bringing together a shared bedroom is tricky
but also brilliant fun.
I adore the kids' room
because it's so incredibly personal.
Every single thing that makes its way into their room
is there for some special reason,
it has some sentimental story or another
which makes it specifically precious for the children and for us.

I've blogged a bit about the children's nursery
on the Kiddicare blog.
You can check it out here.

  1. Oh I love it! I am so desperate to decorate W's bedroom properly. His old nursery was beautiful and now, his room is a make-do room while we organise an extension on our new house. I want to make something special for him. Something he can be proud of, as he grows up. The beautifuls' bedroom is...beautiful. :) xx

  2. Beautiful photos Lucy. Their room looks so so lovely. I wouldn't know how to style a room so it was suitable for a boy and a girl but you've done it perfectly xx

    1. I think the fact it was never truly a boyish room before, made it a lot easier to adapt it into a shared room. And it definitely suits them both which I love. x

  3. Oh I absolutely love their room, very cosy looking and so personal with all their own special bits and pieces. The chest of drawers is fab. xx

    1. Thanks, it's certainly very personal and special. Those drawers are fab, an ikea piece that we've had for donkey's years. x

  5. It's gorgeous! I love the shelf of special things. We have a very tall chest of drawers in Kitty's room that gets used for all the things I'd rather she couldn't reach and Elma's bits and bobs are tucked away here and there. it's just lovely that you get balancing collections for each little one. - I love the our story baby books - I've got one for each of mine and I love them, although I suspect they need a bit of updating again!

    1. It's lovely to keep their special mementos out of reach so they can't be spoiled, but on display so we can still see them, enjoy them and remember the stories behind them. x

  6. Beautiful just like its owners, I think it's lovely you have separate but shared spaces, Addison shared with Grayson when she was born and now with Deacon, it can be hard to find a happy mix but I love that their room is a perfect mix xx

    1. It's tricky to find the right balance, but so lovely for them to have a special shared space. Their room keeps growing and changing with them, which I think is great. x

  7. Looks like a gorgeous room. I can't wait until M has his own space in our own house so that we can really make his room his own.

    1. Thanks. I'm really looking forward to being able to give them their own rooms, and really put a personal stamp on those spaces. But their little shared space is so lovely for the time being, and I think we'll all be quite sad when they aren't sharing anymore. x

  8. It is gorgeous! As you know we are about to put our two in together, Cherry's room is too small for them so I think we are going to give up our room and swap so they have more space. I can't imagine Cherry wanting anything in it that isn't pink though, the girl is obsessed! x

    1. Ahhh, well you're about to start the fun that is joint room decorating then. I just find keeping everything quite neutral but having specific spaces for the boyish or girly bits helps. x

  9. Gorgeous photographs, lucky children to have such a thoughtful place to spend time. I love the embroidery hoops - they are right up my crafty street!
We would like to possibly have a third baby which would mean someone sharing and I actually love the idea of my oldest - a boy and girl - sharing so we could do something just like this. I'm not a fan of overly gendered rooms so I think it would be lovely to create a shared space.
