guess how much i love you {what we're reading}

Sometimes books can really pull at your heart strings.
And these books really do that for me.

I bought this set of books three years ago
when my beautiful boy was still Dollop.
They were the first thing I bought for my baby
(I guess that says a lot about my book obsession)
and once I started maternity leave I read them to my bump each day
sitting on the day bed in the nursery,
the same day bed that my beautiful boy now sleeps in.
And when I was expecting Splodge
who would become my beautiful girl,
I used to read them to my bump again,
only with my little man curled up by my side too.

So reading these books to my children just warms my heart.
They bring memories crashing back,
from the days before I became a mama,
the days when I was on the cusp of big change
but couldn't have ever grasped just how much change.

I have always loved the original Guess How Much I Love You
and this little set of shorter books was just too cute to resist.
Guess How Much I Love You All Year Round is a series of books set in the different seasons,
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
The books are all beautiful and
the stories are just as charming as the original book they spin off from.

The beautiful girl has really got into looking at these books lately,
and she really inspects the pages,
like she's really trying to take on board what is on the page.
Her furrowed brow is one of the cutest things ever.

  2. I didn't realise that there were seasonal versions. And I call myself a bookworm! William loves the original one so much. He always goes to his bookcase and grabs it, along with Dear Zoo (flap obsessive!). I think I need to invest in this series. They look lovely! xx

  6. I have to admit we don't own a copy (bad mummy, no biscuit) - I suspect it's because it's not a book I had as a child but the pictures are beautiful - perhaps Elma needs a little addition to her library!
