I thought that the timing couldn't have been better.
With a newly toddling little boy
and big boy shoes on my mind,
that is far better for toddlers to walk barefoot
as it helps them to have stronger, healthier feet
and to develop better balance and mobility.
It would definitely be true to say that my little guy prefers to be barefoot most of the time.
And it doesn't take much observation to see that he walks better when his feet are bare,
so I was keen to get him some shoes which he would be comfy in
while still protecting him from the different surfaces that he would be walking on.
Skeanie shoes are designed to protect and nurture children's feet
by giving room for growth and toe wiggling
and having soft soles which allow the child to experience sensory feedback from the ground.
I loved the idea of this brand straight away,
so I chose the Sneakies in Navy
which are a really cute pair of trainers
that I knew would look good with my beautiful boy's trendy wardrobe.
And when they arrived they didn't disappoint.
The soles of the shoes are really bendy and flexible
and they remind me of dance shoes
which I always love wearing for their softness and flexibility.
The great thing is that my little toddler won't get reliable on rigid shoes to help him balance
and that he will learn to grip and move his feet and find his centre of gravity
in order to stay standing up.
All good stuff as far as I'm concerned.
They are made from soft breathable leather
and are a really nice design and style.
I was a bit concerned that one little velcro strap would mean they would be off his feet in seconds,
but some how they manage to be flexible enough to put on easily
and also stay on without gripping his teeny feet and leaving marks.
I'm really impressed with Skeanies
and have already recommended them to the mummies of all the little guy's toddling friends.
Whenever he has worn them they have been much admired
and I love that they are good for his feet too.
At the moment Skeanie are running a competition on their Facebook page
to win a pair of Skeanie shoes.
All you have to do to enter is like the page and then enter your details.
We were sent this pair of shoes free of charge for the purpose of this review
but all words and opinions are my own.
