backyard adventures {52 adventures}

It is starting to feel like spring is really arriving lately, and with it has arrived one of my favourite things... going out without a coat. There is something so refreshing about not needing to wrap up to venture out of doors, about just being able to open the door and get some fresh air.

Every week we spend a day at my mum and dad's, and this week we had planned to take the children out for a walk at the country park in the nicer weather. But when it came to it, the kids were having such amazing fun rediscovering Nanny's garden after too long cooped up indoors, that we decided not to bother. They spent all afternoon outside; finding last summer's toys, remembering good hiding spots, running around the way they can't indoors, and there wasn't a coat in sight.

Come on Summer... we can practically smell you around the corner now!!!

 ^ the moment he realised that space hoppers do not hop you to space...!
 ^ she really is a crazy little nutter sometimes (and I wouldn't have her any other way)
 ^ witnessing some dead-heading is very exciting when you're two
 ^ this boy can spot a dead-head at twenty paces, Nanny has trained him well
 ^ this face says "I'm not dead-heading, I'm pulling the petals off the flowers, and there's not a lot you can do to stop me"

This year we are embarking on a challenge to have an adventure every single week... 52 adventures!!! They may be big excited adventures or simple ones close to home, but we want to have a 2015 full of adventures and full of amazing memories.

  1. Beautiful photos Lucy. I love their clothes - that dress is adorable! It's so much nicer now that the sun has returned and the weather has warmed up. Ethan has loved spending lots of time in the garden this week! It's much nicer than being cooped up inside isn't it?! xx
