summer adventures

There's been a kind of theme around here lately;
the sun comes out and we head off in search of adventures.
It's one of the reasons I love the summer so much,
and it definitely makes life so much easier as a parent,
to be able to head off somewhere new and fun and interesting,
and then sit back and watch your children explore.

Last week we went adventuring with our besties.
Katie and I have met up a lot lately,
but we were shamefully overdue a kiddy play date.
Getting our families together is always a blast;
and our adventure to Wimpole Hall was no exception.

It was the kind of hot, sunny day in stunningly beautiful surroundings,
that makes me love the British summer time.
A picnic under a tree in front of Wimpole Hall,
followed by a play in the hay,
a visit to the farm
and an explore around the walled garden.

It was like heaven for inquisitive toddlers
(and their snap happy mamas!)

^ tractors to ride for farmers-in-training
^ a big tractor turned climbing frame was great fun
 ^ our not-so-little-anymore little ones
 ^ the gang all together
 ^ she loves to play 'round and round the garden' over and over, especially with him
^ the perfect place to share secrets away from the mummies and watch the world go by
 ^ meeting a rabbit
 ^ learning how to milk a cow
 ^ he was teaching her how to climb, it was so sweet watching them
 ^ we pushed open a gate...
 ^ … and found a secret garden
^ they were just so cute together
^ she would have thrown stones in the pond all day

  8. Ah beautiful pictures! I must admit even thought I started off the summer a bit scared of being with my 1 and 3 year old. A week in? It's brilliant! I feel like I have a bit of a posse as we travel around to new adventures. Granted there is the odd day where they have meltdowns but we also have lots of fun. They are only little for so long aren't they? #sharewithme xxx
