climbing, balancing, learning {52 adventures}

Sometimes the best little adventures are the surprise ones... the ones you didn't plan, or planned differently, and they end up being amazing fun. For our adventure this week, we found ourselves with an hour to spare on a weekday afternoon, and itchy feet to get out and do something. A brief check of the list of local spots we want to visit this year, and we hopped in the car headed for a nearby country park. Only half way there the traffic ground to a halt, and suddenly it looked like we might waste our adventure time sitting in the car. Some quick thinking, a quick u-turn and a change of direction later and we found ourselves on a whole different adventure.

his next steps

We are in the very fortunate position 

that since our son was born

I have been able to stay at home with him.

I have relished every second with him

watching him change and grow

watching him learn new skills.

I've been there for first steps and first words

and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

I'm a big fan of really attractive, grown up style books

and my beautiful boy definitely seems to feel the same.

And this one is like a gorgeous coffee table book.

so much to say

As a self confessed chatterbox

I can honestly say that from the day I found out I was pregnant

that I couldn't wait until a time when I would hear my baby speak.

I was so excited to be a part of the whole process of language acquisition.

It's always fascinated me that children pick words up so quickly,

and how they learn a language from scratch

and I could wait to help in the process of teaching my child to learn such a valuable life skill.

It was hard to believe that a whole month had passed since you turned one.
