Here we are then,
starting our second year of monthly family portraits.
I'm so excited to continue to record our family together this year,
maybe revisit some of the photos we took this year,
and find some new and exciting shots to take.
Mostly I just can't wait to see how we all change over the coming year,
and having another collection of photos to share for our year
when December 2014 comes around.
Me and Mine has been such an amazing thing to do so far,
and I'm so looking forward to carrying it on this year.

But I'm getting ahead of myself,
right now it's all about my family in January.
And your family too.
It's a great time to join the project if you haven't already,
we'd love to have you join us,
and see your family photos each month.
It was great fun last year,
and it isn't about taking fancy perfect photos,
it's about just about being together
and getting a photograph which proudly says
"This is us, we're a family."

Each month the seven of us hosting this link up
will send you on to a different person,
and you can travel around in a circle from blog to blog
and see everyone's family portrait.
This month I am sending you to visit Becky, Tom and Holly at Ar-Blog.
Becky's blog is beautiful and so refreshing and honest and genuinely lovely,
so go and check it out, you won't regret it.

dear beautiful

    1. Thanks, we love a little stroll to the playground (the one in the photos is just around the corner) but the weather hasn't made it so easy to go this month. Bacon and leek risotto is delicious, I must ask the hubby to make it at least once a week. x

  4. You are like a pocket of sunshine on that grey day! So lovely to have a proper snap of a childhood pastime - the swings! Mine tend to be blurry iPhone pictures! Happy New Year to Me and Mine! xx

    1. Haha, it was SUCH a dark day when we took these. The heavens opened as we walked back in the door.... literally. And you're right, there is something so perfect about childhood trips to the swings. I still rather like a go on them myself. x

  5. The Beautiful Girl is a lady after my own heart - you can't beat a Bounty bar! You're pictures are so happy and lovely, and I'm wildly impressed that you got outside (sans umbrellas)!!

    1. She's the only Bounty eater in this house, so she's onto a winner. And we literally dashed out between showers to get this photo. It rained in the morning, stopped as the children went down for naps, we dashed out of the door as soon as the woke up, and as came home again the heavens opened. The weather has certainly made outdoor Me and Mine shots a challenge this month. x

    1. What's not to love, hey? We all like a go on the swings and the children laugh hysterically as their daddy and mummy try to go higher than one another. We certainly made the most of a dark and gloomy day when we got these. x

    1. Well, I was determined to get outside, but with such a wet month our opportunities have been somewhat limited. The park is close to home so seemed like a safer choice. We're LOVING Breaking Bad, so glad we started watching it. x

    1. Yep, we are definitely a linky of 'it's the thought that counts'. It's the fact you take the picture, not how fancy it is that matters. Can't wait to see you joining in. x

    1. Thanks lovely. I really did think they were a disaster at the time, but actually they are kind of fun and natural. Rich was being a bit of a moron at that moment and we were both laughing at him. It's so nice when the smiles are really real like that. x

  18. I am so very jealous of your gorgeous family photos. I can't ever get all of us four in the same photo, ever. And if I do have a fifth person to take one the baby is looking the wrong way and the toddler is screaming and running for it. I would love to join in with your lovely linkys but I don't even have one picture of the four of us that's suitable. lol :) So I will just be in awe of yours and very jealous, oh so jealous. These will be amazing to look back to throughout the year!!!

    1. Ahh, bless you. You just have to learn to embrace the fact that not everyone will look at the camera, and you'll instantly feel better about it. We aren't looking in most of these, we're just doing what we do and I'm constantly clicking a remote to take the photo. I promise you could do it too, it's really pretty easy.
And thank-you, I'm so glad you like my photos. x

I am so jealous of BB, I can't wait to see the Tink movie

    1. I wasn't sure, but I've definitely warmed to them. They are certainly really natural and have captured us doing something which we do so regularly and which we all love: a trip to the swings.
And the new Tinkerbell movie is fab. We all went to the preview a few weeks back. I loved it! x

  21. I really should follow your lead and make better use of the self timer so we can get some 'family at play' shots. That's what's so inspirational about me and mine - seeing all the quirky ways people come up with to capture the love at the heart of family life :o)

  22. Lovely pictures and such a great idea, may have to attempt this one month and see if I can get both children smiling in the same photo haha
