the siblings project {march}

This past month has certainly been one of changes. In fact, while I normally feel like time flies from one month to the next, and that when time comes to do a post for The Siblings Project I've barely finished doing the last one... thats definitely not the case this time. Last month's photos feel like there were take absolutely ages ago. We were into the last days in our first home, and change loomed on the horizon. Well change has happened. And not just the obvious big change of address... things have changed between my trio this month too.

Dylan and Everly have gone from sharing a room, to rooms of their own. I was apprehensive about this, and thought we might see some resistance when the time actually came. And I won't lie, every night the two of them get visibly upset as story finishes and the time comes to say goodnight. They definitely miss those little chats at the end of a day. So much so, that we've changed up our routines a bit to give them their much craved quiet together time; and instead of bed straight after their story, they get some time to sit in bed together and chat or read, while I feed and settle Quinny. It's amazing what a difference that little bit of time reconnecting makes, because after that little bit of time has passed, they both happily go to their own beds to sleep. Except on weekends... something tells me the Friday and Saturday sleepover nights are here to stay!

It's not just between the big two where things have changed either. With Ashlyn becoming more and more the little girl with each passing week, she is becoming more involved in all the sibling goings on. I think a new playroom has helped. As has some of the long lost toys reappearing. I so often find the three of them playing in their tent together, or creating a tea party in the play kitchen, or digging through the duple box side by side. It's lovely, and is exactly what I hoped for when we first realised we could give them a playroom; a space to call their own, where imagination and togetherness are the orders of the day.

This month I caught the kids very much "in their natural habitat" for my photos. No posing here, just me creeping around the garden and capturing their joint adventures. I've always found that Dylan and Everly seem more of a team when they are out of doors, and I'm fascinated to see how Ashlyn joins in with those dynamics this summer. At the moment she's completely fearless in her adventuring, but generally has two protective siblings watching her every move. Having our own garden is still a massive novelty, and their excitement at playing and exploring were the cutest thing. Something tells me I'll be spending a lot of time out there as the weather cheers up.

So that was our month in a nutshell, with changes big and small, but all super exciting. I can't wait to see what you all have to share this month, and make sure you pop by my cohosts (Amber, Carie, Donna, Katie, Keri-Anne and Natalie) to see what they've been up to this month too.

  13. Congratulations on the new house! It must be so nice for you to see your youngest one interacting and playing so much more with her older siblings. I know that my older daughter can't wait for the time until she can properly play with her sister (although we are still quite a few months away from that). Thanks for hosting this fantastic link-up!

  14. Oh bless, they look adorable heading off on their adventures together, and very definitely a trio. It's a funny moment when you suddenly realise that the littlest is keeping up enough to be included by the big ones, you can suddenly see that their baby days are numbered!
