these three {week one}

He was so excited to get back to school, and apparently spent his first day back "having lots of chats". He has been loving making a solar system model from a kit he got for Christmas. He is such a perfectionist and has such high expectations of himself, but he's such a sensitive little soul sometimes; and I know exactly where he gets it from, and sometimes when he's being really hard on himself I wish I could take that feeling away.

She has the most creative little mind, watching her at play you never really quite know where it will all end up. She loves mothering her new Rapunzel doll, it's rare we see one without the other at the moment. She uses the most hilariously high pitched voice when she's playing with her baby sister; its a stereotypical baby voice, but it just sounds so funny to hear my big girl (who is still so little really) pretending to be such a grown up.

She has been so poorly since before Christmas, and it's broken our hearts to see our happy little sunshine looking so sad. She like sunshine and rain though, because she has recently started throwing the most epic little wobblers. She loves all food; she's seriously like a human dustbin, and she'll stand in the kitchen pointing at cupboards or pots demanding whatever takes her fancy; except mash potato - mash potato is the food of the devil, apparently.

I'm bringing back the weekly portraits this year. After doing them in 2014 and 2015, I thought I wanted 2016 off. But by March I was in serious regret of that decision, so they are back. One picture of each of my three, and a little something about them and their week.

I've linked up this post with Living Arrows over at What The Redhead Said.

  1. I am looking forward to follow your weekly journey of this year. Your photography is amazing. I don't have the right camera for that sort of stuff but I think hubby might kill me if I request one. #livingarrows

    1. Awww thank you. I did use my big camera to take these but I have to say that you can get a good photo with any camera if there is plenty of light. I took all of these practically in my window because it made their faces look so bright and clear. x

  2. Oh bless little Ashlyn, she looks so grown up but a little bit sad. So sorry she's been poorly, it must be rotten for her. Dylan sounds so grown up, wise beyond his years. All three have grown so much and I'm so glad you're linking these posts up with Living Arrows - I've always enjoyed reading your weekly updates and love that Katie is doing similar this year too x

    1. Yes, I had smiley photos of her too, but I quite liked the sad looking one, and it summed up her week so well. I'm excited to take their weekly photos again this year, and to link up with you each week too. x

    1. I really loved doing it before, so I'm excited to be doing it again this year. It makes such a nice record of their year. And yes, their eyes are their best features I think. And I still can't believe that Ashlyn's are blue, I felt sure she'd be a brown eyed girl like the other two are. x

  15. They all look so similar. It really is incredible! and I love that your littlest has mixed it up with her eye colour. I wish my littlest was a human dustbin. He is my worst eater, and feeding him can be so frustrating! So so beautiful! #LivingArrows x
