the siblings project {february}

I don't know why it is that seeing the bond between these three continues to surprise me. I kind of figured, that having watched a sibling bond develop and grow before between my oldest too, that it would all just be the same with three, that it wouldn't be anything especially unique or new. But it is unique and it is new and it is so so special to witness. Watching the love between your children is something that clearly just never gets old, in fact I think it gets better.

This past month has seen so many changes between these three. Last month I talked about how our beautiful littlest one didn't quite get her sister just yet and seemed to be favouring her brother, well that tide appears to be turning. She still adores her big brother, but I think she's really starting to enjoy her big sister too; she watches her like a hawk, taking it all in, and smiles at the crazy little things she does. We've always talked about how our big girly was born to be a big sister, even when she was the littlest, and its really lovely to see her relishing that role and settling into it now that her baby sister is becoming more communicative and more fun.

I think the thing that makes me proudest of my three little loves, is how proud they seem to be of one another. The bigger two just love telling anyone and everyone all about their baby sister; there is just no question that they love her to pieces. And she never takes her eyes off them, just waiting for either of them to look her way so that her whole face can light up in a big smile.

Yes, I know I've kind of spammed you with photos of my beautiful little threesome this month. But I simply couldn't choose between the photographs. I think that pride that they have in each other just shines out of them. They are just so cuddly and happy together, and I just love them. It also just fascinates me how alike but how different they are. Each of them share some characteristics but then have differences too... without doubt brother and sisters, definitely 'part of a set'.

I'm not sure why the littlest one insisted on looking quite so bemused, she was smiling before and after but I think my silly faces and attempts to get the big two laughing were kind of lost on her. Her face seems to say "That kind of looks like my mummy, but what is she doing?" Ahhhh, the things we do to get three sets of eyes all looking vaguely in a similar direction...!

So that's my little set of siblings in February, what have yours been up to?

This year The Siblings Project is also on Instagram, so do pop over to @siblings_project_ and give us a follow. Add #siblingsproject to your photos and then we'll be sharing some of our favourites. And it can be any sibling photos, not just the ones you link up for The Siblings Project blog post. I'm hoping it can be a lovely community of parents, and a massive collection of lovely sibling moments.

This year I'm being joined about by my cohosts Katie, Carie, Annie, Keri-Anne and Amber, so pop by their posts too to see what they've been up to. And link up your posts in the linky at the bottom, I can't wait to see all your photos.

    1. Yes, the bemused face seems kind of fitting somehow I think, she still trying to figure out all our crazy a lot of the time. And that's so cute that he was so proud right from the start. Our little man counted down the days to meeting his baby sister from when he found out I was pregnant, and he's stayed just as excited and proud now she's here. x
