a wonderful weekend in norfolk

We love a mini break. There is something about the simplicity of a short break, something which doesn't require a ton of planning, but which gets you away from the grind of being at home. We really enjoy weekends away as a family somewhere lovely, where we can be just as happy relaxing together as going out to explore. Somewhere that holds all the creature comforts of home, without all the chores that home holds.

To kickstart out Christmas season we were invited to spend a weekend in a cottage with English Country Cottages, in one of there Christmas themed cottages. As soon as we looked at the shortlist, Partridge Barn jumped out at us; we really liked the look of it's simple homely style. Plus it's in Norfolk, which we have been keen to explore for a while, and which isn't too far away from us in Essex that we'd waste half of our break travelling.

Our break was complete and utter bliss. The cottage was so well planned out and well stocked, with all the kinds of things that make breaks with children that bit easier; a massive basket full of toys, a good quality highchair and cot, a well kitted out kitchen with all the utensils you could want. Everything had been thought of... so all we had to think about was relaxing together and having a nice time.

I feel like photos and video will tell the story of our break far better than my written words, so here are the two videos from our stay...
