the kitchen

My kitchen and I have an interesting relationship.
I like it to look tidy and clean and pretty.
I like buying gadgets and utensils for it.
I love looking at.
I don't love using it.

your forty-second week

You were constantly on the go.

need-2-know books review

I don't know about anyone else,
but as soon as I found out that I was pregnant
I practically inhaled every baby and pregnancy book that I could get my hands on.
I bought some, I borrowed many.
I downloaded apps which could let me know all about my unborn babies latest developments.
I trawled websites for information on pregnancy
and labour
and breastfeeding
and getting my baby to sleep.

i believe in fairies...

. . . and so should you!

I would like to say that there has never been a time when I haven't believed.
But of course, becoming an adult means that you start to doubt the magic.

As a little girl
when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up
I used to say "a fairy".

a birth story - part five

In a birth story so far;

My waters have broken,
my contractions have started.
I've been to hospital with contractions that are three minutes apart,
to discover I'm only 2cm dilated.
And I've been sent home again
while things progress.

3

something i am proud of

Pride is such an interesting thing
because people can take pride in such different things.
I think the things that you are proud of
often reveal a lot about you.

So I wonder what my pictures this week
says about me. . .

17

your forty-first week

You were finding more and more ways to make yourself understood.

this week baby i promise...

This week baby, I promise. . .

. . . to take you out somewhere,

every single day,

even if it's just for a walk.

This week baby I promise is the brain child of Mum of One
The rest are here.

hugging your children a little bit closer

There is a change from the normal Friday proceedings on Dear Beautiful Boy today.
There will be no Meeting You, Finding Me today.
Instead I want to talk about something which is very close to my heart,
Because today is Children in Need.

3

a birth story - part four

my waters have broken
some contractions have started
and we are off to the birthing unit.

11.11.11

11.11.11
Isn't there something lovely about that as a date?
So pretty and balanced.

And it was a special date for us
because it marked a special point.
The little guy was born after 39 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy.
And 11.11.11 marked 39 weeks and 4 days of life in the outside world.
It was the very last day when I had been his home for longer.

9

your fortieth week

We had all reached a big milestone.

1

where do i do it?

to show where I do it.

The truth is
that I don't like where I do it very much.

a birth story - part three

To read part one and part two of my story, click on the links.

Expecting to go way past my due date and still be pregnant
I was a little bit surprised when my waters broke three days early. . .

3

changes

Changes
What major (or minor) changes
have happened to you this year
that have made a difference in your life?

I can't help thinking that this BritMums prompt
might have resulted in a shorter answer
if it had been 'what hasn't changed in your life this year?'
Because we've seen quite a few changes in this past year.

2

your thirty-ninth week

Everything about you completely brightened our days.

2

ten questions

I have been tagged
to let you know a little bit more about me.

The rules are really simple:
1) Answer the 10 questions
2) Tag someone to do the same
3) Come back to my original blog post and comment that you have done so in order for us to find out who has been tagged and therefore find out more about our fellow bloggers!
So without further ado. . .

7

my wondercube review

As soon as I saw My Wondercube on their website,
I knew they were a toy that was right up my street.
I was just so impressed that they had taken such a simple idea
and had developed into an interesting and original toy.

18

a birth story - part two

You can read Part One of my story here.

I was practically positive that my little Dollop was going to arrive late.
So four days before my due date
we had only just finalised the names we liked. . .

4

the letter t

The Letter T?
Tricky... very tricky.

But I finally settled on one word
and I'll confess to the fact that I got the dictionary out for inspiration in the end.
And that word sort of led on to another few words
that also happened to begin with T.

12

your thirty-eighth week

It seemed like you had changed a lot recently.
